5:30 Collectors Tour (Celebrity Guide Carrie Decker)
Join art writer/blogger Carrie Decker for an exciting tour of four creative spaces. The Art Bus goes to Copacetic, which showcases locally-made jewelry, One Hasbro Place for a community art installation showcasing the talent of Hasbro employees, Anthony Tomaselli for a view into a working painter’s studio, and finally BankRI Gallery for a solo show by painter Monica Shinn. The first stop is 159 Sutton St, a new gallery featuring the meticulous typographic work of Lu Heintz. The tour then stops at ceramics studio J Schatz, where works-in-progress and finished pieces are displayed, visits Gather for a live glass-blowing demonstration, and concludes at One Hasbro Place for a community art installation showcasing the talent of Hasbro employees. Carolina Briones will lead a Spanish-language/Bilingual tour visiting five exciting spaces. First is the “Artists Loop” show at Atrium Gallery, then Dryden Gallery for a show of painter Kevin Eager’s New England subjects. The Art Bus then visits Peaceable Kingdom to view their curated selection of international arts and crafts and Gallery Belleau for their local glasswares, concluding at One Hasbro Place for a community art installation showcasing the talent of Hasbro employees. Join artist Pop Icon for an Art Bus tour that visits Gallery Z for a show of cityscapes and streetscapes, Inner Space Outsider Art Gallery for an exhibition featuring featuring the work of Quigley’s Magic Shop, Sprout to view a variety of work in different media, including some cityscapes, and finally One Hasbro Place for a community art installation showcasing the talent of Hasbro employees. 7:00 Mixed-Media Tour
This tour begins at One Hasbro Place for a community art installation showcasing the talent of Hasbro employees, including works in a variety of media, from painting to collage to performance. The next stop is Providence Center for Photographic Arts to see the exhibition “Leaving our Mark: An American Landscape” featuring photographs by Russell Hart. The final stop is ArtProv for a mixed-media show called “Figure & Form” showing many artists’ approaches to representing the human form. (Staff Guide John Housley)
