Sprout Gallery, A New Gallery Night Member!

SPROUT Gallery Grand Opening Show!

Sprout is a new gallery that is part of the recently opened coworking space in the Rising Sun Mills complex. The group show features paintings, photography, and sculptural work by local artists and local student artists creating and inspiring our local Rhode Island community. Our first show will feature works by Jide Adeleke, John Fazzino, Vesper Guo, Ho Jae Kim, Betsey MacDonald and Mark Winsor.

Join us for the Gallery Night reception on March 17th from 5 to 8:30 pm with live music and light refreshments.  Regular exhibit hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, contact gallerymanager@sproutri.com or visit our website at www.sproutri.com.

MEET OUR LOCAL ARTISTS:

Jide Adeleke is a photographer who is a sophomore at Blackstone Valley Prep.

John Fazzino has a BFA from RISD and a MFA from UMASS, Dartmouth. Primarily a ceramicist who creates large outdoor garden work, he is displaying vibrant watercolors at Sprout.

Vesper Guo is a senior art student at School One. She is an international student from Shenzhen, China and she works in a variety of media. She is displaying 1 hanging piece made of wire and one sculpture made of clock parts and film.

Ho Jae Kim is expecting to receive his BFA from RISD this spring. A painter, he is displaying a large canvas at Sprout, measuring 6 feet x 10 feet!

Betsey MacDonald is fascinated with science, nature and animals. For years she taught chemistry and anatomy.  She currently teaches art at Cumberland High School.

Mark Winsor is a watercolorist who studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. He is a member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society.
