July Is Paper Month For Gallery Night Providence!

We are very pleased to announce that on July 16, 2015, Gallery Night Providence will be all about paper.

The Paper Connection International will be joining us as part of their twentieth anniversary celebration.  Internationally known paper expert  Lauren Pearlman Sugita will be on hand at the paper connection to discuss the history, origins, and many uses of all types of papers.

Our “Collector’s Tour” will be led by conservator Linda Catano.  Linda’s tour will provide a great opportunity to learn the finer points of conserving works of art on paper.  If you are an artist who produces work on paper, or if you happen to own art on paper, photographs, watercolors, drawings in any medium, this is the tour for you.

Multidisciplinary artist print-maker Jules Burrowes will lead our “Contemporary Tour”, offering visitors insight from the perspective of an artist who works primarily on paper.

Throughout the evening many of our galleries will be featuring works on paper, giving demonstrations on conserving paper art, and providing paper craft activities such as origami.
