Robert Dilworth received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1973 and his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1976. He is now a Painting, Drawing, Design, and African American Art History Professor, and the current Chair of the Department of Art & Art History at University of Rhode Island. The Rhode Island Foundation and the University of Rhode Island Research Council, among others, have recognized Dilworth for his work and significant academic contributions. He has shown extensively, especially in Rhode Island, in both solo and group exhibitions and his work has been reviewed regularly in the New England press as well as in Florida, New York,
Virginia, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri and Texas. Dilworth’s work is widely collected, from the Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI, to the Fairmont Hotel Corporation, San Francisco,CA.
