Winter Hapenings

Even though Gallery Night Providence has taken the winter off, you don’t have to wait until March to visit our galleries, there’s plenty going on this time of year as well.

Among the many shops on Wickenden Street you’ll find Gallery Belleau a great place to remind you that warmer days are ahead with brightly colored sea shells from the Inner-Glow collection.

And for more sea side nostalgia, be sure to check out the Glass Wave series by Christopher Belleau.

As you continue up Wickenden Street, be sure to stop into Three Wheel Gallery where you can usually find owner Luke Chen at his potters wheel which is fascinating to watch.

In addition to Luke’s own work, his shop features the work of All Fired Up from Newport RI, Amelia Stamps of Lexington KY, and Michael McCarthy from North Hampton MA.

It’s always a pleasure to talk to both Christopher and Luke about there crafts, and if they don’t happen to be in when you get there you’ll often find they’ve left the shops in the care of other artists, such as painter and illustrator Liz McGrath, and pastel artist Michael A. Evans who enjoy discussing the arts as well.
